Detailed Description of our Bespoke Liners
Not everyone has a "standard" sized cage therefore we offer the option to have a completely bespoke cage liner made for you. How amazing is that? We just need the details mentioned above and that's it. Our Bespoke Fleece Cage Liners were the original cage liners to use the material Zorb™ (more info below) in every liner we make. Several others have gone on to copy us by using it. As Oscar Wilde said "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery that mediocrity can pay to greatness". So, thank you! We're flattered.
We used our experience and many many hours of trial and error to establish that the liners should be made using high quality anti-pil polar fleece on the top and bottom of the liners with a layer of Zorb™ Silvadur® sewn in-between the fleece layers. The fleece is anti-pil meaning that it won't bobble and become less effective over time. In fact the fleece wicks liquid awar better after multiple washes Due to the Zorb™ Silvadur® being such an effective material a "waterproof" layer, as often seen in cheaper or lower quality liners, is not needed. All of the liners are hand made in the UK by experienced and skilled seamstresses.

Key Features of Our Liners & Absorbent Accessories
A quick summary of why our liners and absorbent accessories are the best value for money in the UK.
- Zorb™ Silvadur™ Antimicrobial absorbent core to lock away any moisture. Not polyester wadding which isn't absorbent!
- Silvadur™ is proven to be safe against the skin so is 100% safe for your piggies/pets especially when sewn inside a cage liner.
- Silvadur™ has intelligent odour control reducing noticeable odour by over 99%
- High quality Anti-pil fleece to wick away moisture from the animals into the core.
- No need for a "waterproof layer". These layers are present in lower quality liners with cores that do not absorb properly.
- Lightweight and thinner than alternatives but still soft underfoot. Thickness does not denote quality with cage liners.
- Quick drying especially when compared to towelling and wadding based liners.
- Made to measure for the chosen size of cage.
- Handmade at home in the UK by a team of slightly bonkers but skilled seamstresses.
- Can be machine washed and tumble dried on a low heat. One of the few on the market that can be tumble dried.
Why we use Zorb® Silvadur™
So why do we use Zorb™ Silvadur® in our absorbent products (excluding Memory Foam Mats)? Simple really, its amazing but for a bit more detail then carry on reading below.
It is designed to be used in reusable nappies, is thin, lightweight and highly absorbent. Nothing on the market is more effective or comparable. We were one of the first UK bulk importers of Zorb™ and now Zorb™ Silvadur®, which we used in all of our cage liners.
Zorb™ Silvadur® is 20 times faster at locking away liquid than any other material including cotton, bamboo and microfibre which are used in other cage liners. It also absorbs 10 times it's weight in liquid in half a second. In addition it is thin (thick liners don't necessarily mean quality), lightweight, quick drying and can be tumble dried on a low setting.
The Silvadur® Antimicrobial properties inhibits the growth of bacteria, fungi and algae on the fabric thus controlling bad odours, improving overall hygiene and providing continuous freshness protection. We are the first in the UK to use this as standard within all of our liners, setting the bar for quality higher still and showing how innovative we are.
More information about Zorb™ Silvadur® can be found In Our Blog Post.
Washing Instructions
Washing and Drying
- Give your liner an initial wash before using. This helps aid the wicking of the fleece.
- Sweep/vacuum the loose hay and droppings daily.
- Your liner will probably need washing once or twice a week depending on how messy your little ones are.
- If you have 3 or more animals then washing may need to be done more regularly.
- If you use pee pads or similar then this can extend the time between washing.
- Make sure you shake/brush the loose materials off your liner before washing.
- If available, place your liner inside a laundry bag.
- Machine wash your liner on a cool wash, 30/40C using a washing detergent that DOES NOT contain fabric softener. A little white wine vinegar can help eliminate odours.
- We always RECOMMEND line/air drying liners. Howeve our Zorb based liners, unlike others, can be tumble dried if necessary. Please ensure it is on a LOW HEAT SETTING. The wadding liners can ONLY be line dried. Due to the materials we use they will dry quickly.
Extra Help
- Do Not use fabric softener when washing your liners. This is because it leaves a residue on the fleece fibres stopping them from wicking moisture away as effectively
- As mentioned above, we recommend giving your liner an initial wash though this is not essential. You will find the more the liner is washed the more effective the fleece becomes at wicking away any moisture. This is normal behaviour for the material and is a reason why it is so good to use in the cage.
- When washing, if you give the liner a second spin/rinse you will find that it dries a lot quicker.
- Make sure you don't use too much detergent as this will clog the fibres and stop the liner working as effectively. This will lead to bad odours.
Got this for a shelf on my enclosure and now my piggies use the shelf. They love it and it's great quality.
Brought from you as you offered the custom made option.
Had brought elsewhere and found the liner didn’t fit my cage.
Love the pattern, Guinea pig design.
Girls look very happy and comfortable lying down on this bed.
Dries quickly, easy to wash on a 30 minute wash cycle.
No longer using heaps of shavings.
Brought due to having bowel surgery, as couldn’t lug heavy bags of shavings about.
After buying some cheap liners, which were not great after having Kavee liners , which are crazy money , I stumbled across this company, absolutely brilliant, so many designs, choice of sizes and they are super absorbant I will be buying more for sure. Really good value for money and excellent quality.
These liners really are superior and cheaper than other well known brands I’ve tried.
Fits the cage beautiful, lovely fleece, well made.
Easy to brush/hoover off any mess, washes well and dries super fast. No major shrinkage on washing.
Most importantly the piggies have dry bottoms and feet, with the quick wick away of all those wees! which hasn’t been the case with others I’ve tried
I would highly recommend purchasing these cage liners.
I have handmade my own Guinea pig habitats and needed a bespoke liners for them . I found amazing choice of pattens and colour, and was so easy to order . When they arrived the quality of materials is outstanding and my Guinea pigs love snuggling on them really easy to wash a keep clean which is always a bonus.
I ordered these to put inside my guinea pigs' hay trays, since they made such a mess of the paper litter and it was getting expensive/wasteful throwing it away all the time. We already had big C&E liners for the cage so I knew how absorbent they were and thought we'd give these a try. I couldn't find anything anywhere else that would fit the hay trays, so was really pleased that these could be made to any size. Always really impressed by the quality of the products, nothing has been damaged by either the piggies or the washing machine (I do use a laundry bag). The only think I would say to anyone reading this and considering buying, is that these are supposed to be washed at a low temperature. I did this at first, adding napisan to the wash, but due to one of my piggies having very sensitive feet, I followed advice I'd read online to wash at 60 degrees C instead. So I've been doing this, and can say that although I haven't noticed any ill effects on the products and their absorbency, they do shrink a bit at 60. So if you're planning on doing the same, please allow for that by ordering a little larger than needed, to allow for shrinkage. And for this reason if I order any more big liners for the cage in the future, I'll probably go for this bespoke sized option, to allow for more shrinkage in the hotter wash. Honestly, don't bother looking anywhere else, I doubt you'll find other bespoke liners made to this quality and delivered so quickly - I highly recommend!
I wish I had come across these earlier. Economical compared with other linings for cages eg shredded eco-paper . Comfortable for little feet and warm to sleep on. Makes it easier to clean out daily droppings as they don't get caught up in scattered hay so cages are cleaner . Excellent service and speedy delivery.
Great, very pink but great!
I provided my measurements and the item fits perfectly! The usual excellent quality as I have now made several repeat orders and will continue to do so. Can't recommend highly enough!
Every product I’ve bought from this lovely company are absolutely perfect. Their customer service and support is first class too
